About

Haji Abdul Murad came to the law after two decades with the Royal Malaysian Police Force, a background that gives him a reading of risk that most corporate lawyers simply do not have. He co-founded ZMM in 2001 and has led the Shah Alam branch since its inception.

His practice centres on Corporate Legal Advisory, Commercial Contracts, Conveyancing and Banking Security Documentation, with corporate legal advice provided to numerous private and public listed companies. Called to the Malaysian Bar in 1995 after completing his LL.B (Hons), Master of Comparative Laws and a postgraduate Diploma in Shariah Law & Practice, all at IIUM, he has been in active legal practice for over two decades.

His contributions to the profession extend well beyond the firm. He served as Chairman of the Conveyancing Practice Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council for two consecutive terms and continues as its Deputy Co-Chairperson. He sits on the Solicitors Remuneration Order Enforcement Committee, the Legal Profession Qualifying Board Malaysia and the Solicitors’ Cost Committee under the Legal Profession Act 1976. He is a member of PEMUDAH’s Focus Group on Registering Property and has served as President of the Home Buyers Tribunal. He has also been de facto Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee at TPC Kuala Lumpur for the past 18 years.
