Alan is a Senior Partner based at the firm’s Kuala Lumpur branch. At ZMM, he is predominantly involved in litigation matters at all levels of the Malaysian courts up to the apex Federal Court. He is well-equipped to deal with injunctions, interim reliefs, shareholders’ disputes, construction, land and trusts matters as well as industrial relations disputes. Alan is often appointed as counsel by other firms of solicitors to conduct cross-examination at trial as well as to lead arguments on appeals.

Alan is also an Advocacy Trainer with the Malaysian Bar Council.

At the same time, Alan contributes heavily to ZMM’s Corporate & Commercial practice area and has been involved in the capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture developments,  privatisation of government projects/initiatives as well as restructuring of a trust for an employee share option scheme (ESOS). He also advises on fund management structures as well as fintech and proptech start ups.

His experience in both the litigation and corporate commercial practice spans industries such as property development, renewable energy, manufacturing, commodities, media, banking and insurance as well as private equity. Alan is a graduate of the University of West England, Bristol and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2005. On a personal side, Alan is a gadget geek and the de facto tech support at ZMM.
