Always looking to expand our horizons, our Construction & Energy practice led by Andrew Heng grew organically, out of a need from our esteemed clients. Fuelled by client recognition and trust in our expertise in this subject matter, this organic shift was also accelerated by the coming into force of the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA).
At ZMM, we cover all areas relating to Construction Law – from the initial stages of contract advisory across all types and forms of contracts (e.g. EPCC, Design & Build, PAM, JKR, IEM, FIDIC) to dispute resolution in the Construction Court as well as in Arbitration and Adjudication. We are able to advise on both project development and dispute resolution giving clients a single point of contact and unique understanding of the full life cycle of a construction project. Some of the issues we are skilled at handling include:
• Delay/Extension of Time and time related claims (e.g. liquidated ascertained damages, loss and expenses, prolongation, acceleration);
• Claim for Work Done (including Variations);
• Tortious Claims (including negligence, nuisance and trespass);
• Goods sold and/or services rendered.
We believe in seeking the best possible outcome for our clients and are able to work with external consultants should the need arise. Our range of clients includes Developers, Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Consultants and Specialist Contractors.
